About the event

What the Frick ARE Boundaries?!

Finally understanding the words everyone uses—but almost no one defines.

Why does everyone keep telling me I need better boundaries... but no one can explain what a boundary actually is?

Have you ever wondered if something was a boundary... or a rule? An expectation? A limit? An agreement?

Most of us were never taught the difference.

Instead, we use these words interchangeably, leaving us confused about what's actually ours to communicate, what belongs to someone else, and why the same relationship conflicts keep happening over and over again.

This 2-hour interactive virtual workshop offers a practical and compassionate introduction to one of the most misunderstood topics in relationships. Together, we'll explore the language of healthy relationships and discover how clarity—not control—is the foundation of authentic boundaries.

Rather than focusing on telling other people what they should do, you'll learn how boundaries help you understand what belongs to you, what belongs to someone else, and what can only be created together through communication and agreement.

Whether you're navigating family relationships, friendships, dating, parenting, work, or long-term partnerships, you'll leave with a practical framework you can use in everyday life.

In this workshop, you'll learn:

  • The differences between boundaries, limits, rules, agreements, expectations, standards, and personal domains.

  • Why so many relationship conflicts are actually vocabulary problems rather than communication problems.

  • The 10 Domains of Self-Ownership and how they help you recognize what is—and isn't—your responsibility.

  • How to recognize when a boundary is actually needed.

  • How boundaries support healthy communication without trying to control another person.

  • A simple framework for creating boundaries that reflect your values and protect your well-being.

Together we'll explore situations like:

  • A friend who is always late.

  • Family members who expect more than you're able to give.

  • Feeling responsible for someone else's emotions.

  • Saying yes when you really wanted to say no.

  • Knowing something doesn't feel right, but not knowing how to communicate it.

  • The difference between a boundary, a request, and an agreement.

Format

This interactive virtual workshop includes approximately 75–90 minutes of teaching with time built in for reflection, discussion, practical exercises, and questions. We'll use a simple Boundary Builder Worksheet to apply the concepts to real-life situations, helping you leave with tools you can continue using long after the workshop ends.

Participation is always consent-based. No forced sharing, no pressure to be vulnerable, and no prior knowledge is needed.

Come curious. Leave with clarity, confidence, and a practical understanding of what boundaries really are—and how they can create healthier, more authentic relationships.
